Our Technology R&D start-up company require an Electronics Manager to join them on a permanent basis. 

They are directly addressing key strategic concerns of the global automotive industry and offering weight and power saving solutions.

Their technology is proven, and the vision is to deliver a paradigm shift in the eMobility user experience. 

We seek an experienced Electronics Systems Engineer to manage a small team of specialist Engineers producing unique world class drive systems. 

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the design, productisation, testing and delivery of the suite of elements necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation of our new generation technology.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervision and team leader of the Electronics team.

  • Primarily responsible for the end to end specification, design, packaging, and delivery of automotive qualified electronic and electrical systems (digital & analogue) in line with agreed targets for performance, quality, weight and cost.

  • Work closely with a team of varied disciplines to coordinate the smooth introduction of new technology into varied test, demonstration, and prototype vehicles.

  • Support the engineering R&D team and wider business to ensure products, processes, and documentation are aligned with automotive industry expectations and standards.

Required Experience and Expertise:

  • Proven track record of system design and delivery within an automotive, or aerospace environment.

  • Project engineering experience essential

  • Proven team leadership experience

  • Experienced electronics systems engineer with demonstrable ability to make appropriate trade-offs en route to productising novel engineering designs

  • Knowledge of compiling automotive (or similar) engineering Bill of Materials and other relevant PPAP documents

The successful candidate is likely to have the following attributes:

  • 5+ years industry experience

  • Well-presented and professional manner

  • Adaptable and flexible

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred or Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline

  • A track record in either analogue and digital system design, high voltage power supply design, or automotive control system interfacing would be desirable.

  • Awareness of APQP, PPAP and other automotive industry processes
