We are currently recruiting a Production Supervisor to work for a leading Aerospace business in Southampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day tactical management of employees within their designated department, creating and maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring processes and the people within their team adhere to quality standards at all times.
The Role
Set the day-to-day direction for the team and solve problems that inhibit their ability to execute weekly plans
Team development, deployment and performance management
Eliminate waste in processes through employing LEAN manufacturing principles
Identify and effectively deal with bottlenecks that will affect the plan and escalate where appropriate
Absence, disciplinary and grievance management
Drive an EHS and Quality culture within the team and set the example for good practice
Carry out risk assessments; EHS and Quality audits, arrange health surveillances, accident prevention and investigations.
Qualifications / Experience
Experience in a manufacturing supervisory position, preferably Aerospace
Knowledge and application of Six Sigma principles
Knowledge of the disciplines for manufacturing management, such as production inventory control, and standard cost systems
Strong analytical skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong leadership skills
Ability to develop and motivate a high-involvement team
