Our Automotive Technology R&D company require a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. 

They are directly addressing key strategic concerns of the global automotive industry and offering weight and power saving solutions.

Their technology is proven, and the vision is to deliver a paradigm shift in the eMobility user experience. 

Reporting to the CTO, within a cross functional team of engineers, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, testing and delivery of the mechanical elements of this technology. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the specification, concept and design packaging of mechanical systems in line with targets for performance, quality, weight and cost.

  • Work closely with a team of varied disciplines to coordinate the smooth introduction of new technology into varied prototype, demonstration, and testing / qualification platforms.

  • Support the engineering R&D team and wider business to ensure products, processes, and documentation are aligned with automotive industry expectations and standards.

Required Experience and Expertise:

  • Degree qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline.

  • Track record of system / component design and delivery within ideally an automotive, or aerospace environment.

  • Experienced in Automotive design commodities / standards and knowledge of Catia.

  • Excellent fault-finding skills are essential, as is a willingness to be hands-on when required.

The successful candidate is likely to have the following attributes:

  • 5 years automotive industry experience.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated and self-reliant. Capable of working independently or in a team as required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
