Overview

Join an innovative clean technology start-up that are developing advanced autonomous robotic systems for real-world applications. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing and optimising software that powers cutting-edge robotics, working across motion planning, machine learning, embedded systems and user interfaces in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality C++ software for autonomous robotic systems
  • Develop motion planning, control and orchestration software for multi-robot platforms
  • Optimise software performance across Linux-based systems and networked devices
  • Integrate hardware through CAN, serial and other communication interfaces
  • Support deployment, testing and troubleshooting of robotic systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust software solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following software engineering best practices
  • Contribute to software architecture, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree (2:1 or above) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline
  • 5+ years’ commercial software development experience
  • Strong C++ development skills (ideally C++17 or C++20)
  • Experience developing software within Linux environments
  • Proficient with Git and modern version control practices
  • Strong understanding of software design principles and testing methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Experience with ROS 2, Python, Qt or DevOps practices would be advantageous
