Junior Buyer

Due to an internal promotion, our Automotive Technology R&D company require a Junior Buyer to join them on a permanent basis.

This role would be ideal for someone at the start of their Procurement career ideally with some Automotive engineering and manufacturing experience.

You would have direct support from an experienced Senior Buyer and Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Raise RFQ’s and follow whole quote to PO process.

·        Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers and develop strategies to monitor supplier performance and facilitate and lead performance actions plans. Chase up delivery of components on order.

·        Engage in new and existing projects and support with the procurement strategy.

·        Conduct meetings with potential new suppliers and understand the suppliers’ capabilities and where they can support the business.

·        Assist with costing and budgeting exercises.

·        Participate in customer visits and assist in the enrolment of systems aligned with the customer requirements.

Requirements:

• Evidence of independent delivery and taking initiative

• Influencing skills

• Ideally higher education in a relevant discipline i.e. business, engineering, finance etc.

• Ideally experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment

• Evidence of negotiation skills

• Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills
