​​We are recruiting for a Process Engineer to join an advanced automotive and motorsport engineering customer of ours near Northampton. 

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate as the company are involved in several highly specialised, low volume, high value projects, working with some highly prestigious customers – as well as overseeing the investment and development into new, clean technology. 

Main Purpose

Responsible for defining the prototype and production process, liaising with Engineers to understand product and quality requirements. 

Essential Qualifications & Experience

·        Previous experience as a Manufacturing/Process Engineer in an automotive environment

·        Background in vehicle build or conversion

·        Experienced in problem solving techniques

·        ISO TS16949 Quality standard experience

·        Experienced at improving production processes through rigorous data analysis

·        Experienced in Lean manufacturing techniques

·        Built-in quality control experience

·        Capable of introducing new engineering, machines and processes including creation of SOPs

 Key Responsibilities

·        Define order and flow of build

·        Host virtual build meetings

·        Input to and responsible for sign off of DFA during Engineering Process

·        Liaise with engineering on build tooling and Jigging strategy and design

·        Control of process changes relating to design

·        Input into defining schedule and timeline for Build

·        Defines content for build stations and drives BOM and release schedule with Engineering

·        Identify, specify and implement any build equipment required

·        Understand facility requirements and implement flexible future proof solutions

·        Build station and EOL sign off including testing

·        Plan and implement build set up and equipment

·        Accountable for Build Book, Work Instructions for build where required

·        Definition and assurance of ‘built in’ Quality checks and measures

·        Liaise with SQA on quality sign off supplier/transport fixtures/critical items for build handling/storage

·        Parts to build strategy, e.g. lineside, sub assembly

·        Define and implement prototype Build process

·        Productionise process for production run

·        Provide status updates on progress to management team

·        Identify and instigate continuous improvement initiatives

·        Input into quote activities for build resource, facility, equipment

·        Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment 

Remuneration

Initial salary banding for this role is £40,000 – £55,000 D.O.E
