We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Project Manager to work for a leading engineering business in Basingstoke.
The role will be an initial 3 month contract with extensions likely for the right candidate, the status of the contract is deemed inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
The Technical Project Manager will work alongside a variety of engineers, support personnel and be responsible for the delivery of projects. You will bring with you a can-do attitude and help improve the control of projects within a growing technical engineering team.
Work with the Engineering Manager to define design activities and schedules.
Work with the Procurement Manager to ensure materials and components are delivered within defined schedules.
Perform ‘make or buy’ decisions.
Work with the Production Manager to allocate build resource to the project in a timely manner and ensure that products are ready for factory testing on time.
Chair internal technical meetings as needed to manage system requirements and technical solutions.
Communicate directly with technical experts in various engineering fields – mechanical, electrical, RF and software.
Arrange various project reviews during project lifecycle.
Manage and mitigate risks through project lifecycle.
Be the customer liaison, reporting on project status, schedule, and risks. Communicate with the customer on technical matters, calling for support from experts as needed.
Occasional international and domestic travel for project reviews on customer sites.
Qualifications and/or Work Experience Required:
Degree educated in an engineering discipline.
Qualified in project management or with the equivalent industry experience, preferably in complex, fast moving, multi-disciplined projects.
Competent in use of MS Project and other Project Management tools.
Experience in dealing directly with customers on technical and programmatic matter.
