We are currently recruiting a Test Engineer to work for a disruptive aerospace organisation in Gloucestershire.
Key responsibilities
Work with design engineers to create test plans and methods
Work with design engineers to design test equipment and rigs
Coordinate procurement and delivery of test equipment
Hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly and setup of test equipment and rigs
Create testing activity risk assessments
Define and setup instrumentation and data logging
Setup comms (CAN, ISO SPI, etc)
Carry out a wide variety of cell, module, and battery pack tests
Carry out tests on electronic components (e.g. BMS)
Process raw test data, and analyse and interpret test results
Write test reports
Present test results internally and to clients
Liaise with external test facilities to coordinate testing
Support testing at external test facilities
Represent the test team at company and client meetings
Contribute to the development and maintenance of test department processes
Attend meetings and testing at supplier’s sites as and when required
Attend meetings at client’s sites as and when required
Skills and attributes
Able to work cross functionally and collaboratively with many stakeholders
Able to give effective presentations to critical/high-level customers
Able to write convincing proposals and reports with all necessary backup material for external consumption
Able to estimate resource, cost, and timing for assigned projects
Able to present options and persuasively advocate for proposals
Able to work productively with test houses
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications and experience
Relevant technical qualification
Relevant battery or electronics test experience
Practical experience of communications protocols such as CAN
Experience of data acquisition using equipment such as NI
Experience of data processing and analysis using tools such as MATLAB or Excel
Annual salary ranges from £30,000 - £45,000 dependant on experience.
